In honor of the little girl that made me a mommy, I'm sharing Elin's newborn session! I remember this day so well. Elin was 16 days old and having my photo taken was literally the LAST thing I felt like doing. I was exhausted, in so much pain, and the thought of running a brush through my hair seemed pointless. But I am so glad we had these done. All I see is the pure love Bjorn and I have for our daughter when I look at these images, and I forget about the other stuff. I will always treasure these, thank you More Beatty!!
Elin is four months old now and it just blows my mind to see how much she has grown and changed since this day. Enjoy this little peak into my daughter's nursery...it is my favorite room in our house. And a happy Mother's Day to all the moms, sisters, daughters, grandmothers, and aunts that make a difference in our lives!
I have my mom and mother in law to thank for helping me pick out items for the nursery. So many things were saved from my childhood and we were able to incorporate them with new items to really give the room a fresh vibe with vintage pieces.
Every Easter as a little girl, I would get a new Beatrix Potter figurine to add to my collection. The collection now belongs to Elin and she got her first one this Easter.
Elin received Cuddle + Kind dolls from both of her grandmothers. Stella & Charlotte! If you haven't heard of Cuddle + Kind, they are beautiful handmade dolls with a great cause. Check them out!
Handmade stool from one of my mom's dearest friends, Ann.
We went with a simple crib from Ikea, and opted for a two toned white as the paint colors (Shoji White and Extra White from Sherwin Williams). We then brought in touches of soft pink to make this feel like the perfect little girl's room. Oh, and I have to give major credit to my father and husband for installing the board and batten themselves. And to my in-laws for helping us paint the room!!
This print was the starting point for the rest of the nursery. It hung in my great grandmother's bedroom, as well as my grandmother's, aunt's, and also mine. I can remember laying in my bed as a little girl and wondering what the girl in the picture was thinking. It was important for me to have this in Elin's room too.
Now that we are four months in, I look at this photo and want to tell the 'past' us that we are doing a great job!!
One of my all time favorite pictures.
Can't believe how tiny she was!
Cash has taken his new role as big brother very seriously!
Hope you enjoyed scrolling through these! Happy Mother's Day!!
