I've done a little research on Trip Advisor, Harper's Bazaar, and Islands.com, and compiled the best spots for a honeymoon this year! Whether you want to relax, explore, travel outside of the US, or stay close to home...there is something on this list for everyone.
1. Santorini, Greece
A small, volcanic island known for the incredible views and beautiful white washed buildings. Enjoy hiking, boutique shopping, wineries, and scooter rides on the beaches. You'll find a lot of historic sites to explore, and consider staying at Perivolas hotel's for wonderful service and to take advantage of these views!
2. Bora Bora, Tahiti
Tahiti is known for it's romantic rooms — and 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of the iconic overwater bungalow! Set to open this April, Conrad Bora Bora Nui will be the first new luxury resort on the island in nearly ten years. The resort will also offer a full-service spa, a swim-up pool bar, and even a private motu (islet) for picnics and candlelit dinners.
3. Lanai, Hawaii
The Four Seasons Resort Lanai just celebrated its grand reopening in February 2016. There are 217 fabulous guest rooms with teakwood finishes, iPad Airs and room-key wristbands. Enjoy the adults-only Retreat pool, lava-rock grottos and views of spinner dolphins swimming around in Hulopoe Bay.
4. Mayo, Ireland
Eight-hundred-year-old Ashford Castle in County Mayo is the epitome of countryside chic with its $75 million renovation in 2015 that unveiled 82 refreshed rooms and a brand-new cinema and spa.
5. Provence, France
Stay at the La Bastide de Gordes to experience rolling lavender fields and quirky locals. Provence is the perfect destination for a wide range of honeymooners: foodies, wine lovers, cyclists, history buffs and art lovers. Visitors spend their days strolling through the countryside, picnicking, and horseback riding. Enjoy wine tastings, cooking classes, and fine dining here.
6. Woodstock, Vermont
Want to find the perfect getaway right here in the USA? Look no further than Woodstock, VT-voted #1 prettiest small town in America. Enjoy a romantic and cozy stay at the charming Village Inn of Woodstock. You and your snow bunny need to take yourselves to the ski slopes, and enjoy all the comfort food you can. To make the most of your trip, visit between November and April...but be sure to bundle up!
7. Charleston, South Carolina
One of my favorite cities! There are many lovely Inns and hotels here but since I JUST visited there, I have to recommend The French Quarter Inn. It's romantic, quaint, and you will be pampered. Charleston is the epitome of southern charm. Enjoy cobblestone streets, carriage rides, shopping, fine dining, the beach, beautiful architecture, and strolling through the market. Charleston is a very historic city, with lots of different tours and excursions to enjoy.
8. Venice, Italy
Venice is one of the coolest places I've ever been to because there is just nothing else like it! The recently opened JW Mariott Venice is on it's own private island and just a 15 minute (complimentary!) ferry ride to Venice. Enjoy a gondola ride, incredible food & wine (including gelato!), as well as a stroll around Piazza San Marco. Did I mention that the locals are incredibly nice too!?
9. Machu Picchu Pueblo, Peru
For the adventurous couple: look no further. Peru is home to some of the world's greatest sites (Andes, Cloud Forests, Machu Picchu Citadel), making it truly the trip of a lifetime. Stay at the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel for a luxurious experience. It sits on 12 secluded acres at the base of Machu Picchu.
10. Napa, California
The Carneros Resort and Spa is located on 27 acres of farmland, grapevines, and apple orchards. The resort offers many activities: yoga classes, bocce ball, infinity pools, and of course-wine tastings! You and your sweetheart have your own little bungalow with an outdoor shower, and a private patio overlooking the vineyards. Equipped with heated floors, luxurious sheets, and a fireplace, you'll never want to leave. The resort is only an hour drive from San Francisco too!
So are you ready to take that trip now? How about making a bucket list and putting all of these destinations on there? In my dreams :)
Thanks for reading, hope ya'll have a great rest of the week! x0
