Tis' the season for LOVE! My friends and clients-Amanda and Jay-are tying the knot on New Year's Eve this year and I wanted to share a little of their love with you here. They are having a fun, cocktail style wedding with hues of blush, gold, and white in the design. Of course New Years is always a party, but what better way to ring in the New Year than a wedding with all your family and friends!?
So, everyone! Meet Amanda & Jay:
How did you two meet?
"Jay and I met at Angry Ale's in Charlotte at a Halloween party. We met on the dance floor and spent the evening dancing together. My roommates and I were having friends over to our house afterwards so Jay and his friends decided to join, He asked for my number and a week later we went on a date and it was history from there."
What are your favorite things to do together?
"We love to play rummy, board games, go on hikes & runs, host get-togethers in our home, & go to the movies."
How did he propose?
"How Jay proposed was pretty funny. It was February 7th. We went for a run that morning and when we got back he immediately said "Do you want to go to Freedom Park?". My immediate answer was no because we had just gone on a run and it was FREEZING outside. But he kept insisting so we took a bottle of wine and went to a bench that is on an island in the middle of the pond. We were sitting and talking and then he kept getting up and walking away and mumbling to himself. I figured he was cold and I suggested that we leave but he kept saying "a few more minutes" (I later found out that when he was mumbling to himself he was practicing what he was going to say). He finally came back and sat next to me on the bench and proposed...saying none of the things that he planned on saying!"
What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
"I just hope everyone is relaxed and has fun. I'm looking forward to wearing my dress and dancing with Jay. I'm looking forward to seeing all my girls and nephews dressed up. And of course I'm looking forward to ringing in the New Year as Mrs. Jay Mallas with all of our family and friends."
What's next for you two?
"We are in the process of getting our house in order and just want to enjoy being married! We would like to travel as much as possible in the next year because kids will be soon since I'm old!"
Jay and Amanda will be getting married on 12.31.16 in Charlotte, NC. I can't wait to celebrate with this couple in just eleven short days and if I know one thing about these two, I know that they are going to have an incredibly FUN wedding!!
